Due to the highly repetitive nature of running, runners are susceptible to a whole host of overuse injuries including
  1. Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) also known as “anterior knee pain”
  2. Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (MTSS) also known as “shin splints”
  3. Iliotibial Band Friction Syndrome (ITBFS) or “lateral knee pain”
  4. Plantar Fasciopathy (tendinopathy of the plantar fascia)
  5. Achilles Tendinopathy and Tibialis Posterior Tendinopathy/Tenosynovitis
  6. Greater trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS) also known as “hip bursitis” or “gluteal tendinopathy”
  7. Bone stress injuries, including both stress reactions and stress fractures of multiple sites, but especially the navicular in the foot and femoral neck
