Functional Movement Screening
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a series of 7 standardized movement tests used to determine how an individual moves, no matter their age or activity level.
It considers both mobility and stability, and is a simple way to identify asymmetries and deficiencies in common movement patterns to which we can assign a simple score or rank.
The FMS can assist us in making informed decisions around programming exercises with precision and purpose, with the goals of improving performance and preventing injury.
The FMS is relevant across most sports and activities, and age groups. It is perfect for those in the later stages of injury recovery, or individuals who are pain-free and looking to prevent injury, and improve the way they move and train.
Please note: The FMS is not a diagnostic tool. If you are currently experiencing pain or other symptoms, we advise you book in for an initial physiotherapy consultation for an in-depth assessment and diagnosis
If you are looking to book multiple screenings for your club/team either in clinic or on-site, please email nadine@thephysiobooth.com.au
